Investment Funds Performance
Investment Partners may open multiple accounts in any of our three investment funds. Each account owns a specified number of Investment Units in the given fund. Each account is accounted for separately and participates on a pro rata basis in any earned income and capital appreciation or depreciation of the fund. Learn more about UMF’s funds:

Balanced Fund
In the Foundation’s Balanced Fund, an actively-managed blend of 65% equity investments and 35% fixed-income investments are blended with a long-term investment horizon in mind. Currently, this fund totals over $95 million as of 9/1/09. This fund has returned just under $87 million in total disbursements to Foundation Investment Partners during the past 15 years while simultaneously growing the overall value of the Balanced Fund by more than $58 million. Over the past 25 years, this fund has provided churches an average annual return of 7.54%, net of all fees. This has allowed churches to benefit from a pre-determined annual distribution (currently 5%) while continuing to increase fund principle with additional earnings. Fixed Income Fund
The Foundation’s Fixed Income Fund is a well-diversified mix of investment grade fixed income assets. It contains 100% high grade, inflation protected corporate and government treasuries (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities & Corporate Inflation-Protected Securities). This portfolio is designed for church assets being invested for shorter durations of time (3 – 5 years) or situations where the preference is for less exposure to the marketplace risks of equity investments. UMF has three money managers handling this customized portfolio. Review the Fixed Income Fund Asset Allocation. The total rate of return (net of all fees) for this fund since inception is 2.16%.

Short Term Income Fund
This fund was created January 1, 2007 and offers a socially-responsible option for short term dollars. UMF anticipates that the Short Term Income Fund will offer a potential increase in total return for account holders when compared against other short-term rates. Deposits and withdrawals can be made on a monthly basis, providing the flexibility often needed in such an account. The fund’s annualized rate of return in 2008 was 2.01% net of all fees.
